Optimism and Pessimism

Okay so the title of this post might seem a little weird. And you're right. But hey… I like to keep it interesting. (I'll get to explaining the title in a bit).

Anyways so October 9th, yesterday, marked my one month anniversary of my arrival in Spain. And thus, I have been in Spain for a month. This statistic is fairly important until the next one comes out as it is the longest I've spent away from my parents and/or family. Well actually after the one week mark I think I'd past that. Hahaha so yeah that news is both "sad" and "happy".

Alright so "Optimism and Pessimism". Well… I think we're all [very] familiar with the question phrase thing "is the glass half full or half empty" and various variations. Well I think that applies to my time here in Spain. But it's a bit confusing. Like I can think of my time here in many different ways and they all come out to the same but sometimes they're optimistic and other times pessimistic.

But in reality I'm not sure how to think about my time here at the moment. I'm having a lot of sun, but also I miss my family and friends. So I happy I still have time and sad that I still have a lot of time left and sad that it's going fast and happy that is going fast. But don't worry. I don't think about this all the time. I had thought about it before but only now that I'm writing this is all these other thoughts coming out. So don't worry, I'm having a good time.

I think by now I may have gotten my point across and now you're like wow nice title and congratulating me. Thank you. Thank you very much.

I'm often an optimistic person with pessimistic thoughts so this isn't unusual and it goves me something to write about so cool. Anyways here are some pictures.

Un saludo, Miguel

No I haven't turned this into a fashion blog, it's just that I thought you like to see what I wear to school each day. The uniform depends on whether I have PE or not.

  1. Miguel this is your Aunt J. on your Dad's side (figure that out). Need anther clue? I believe we (Uncle ? and Aunt J.) are the last family members to not have moved into the iPhone or any technical device resembling such mechanism.
In your pictures it appears from the view from your balcony you could walk across the rooftops to where you wish to go or at least part way and miss some traffic. True or False?
    Love and Prayers,
    Aunt J. and Uncle ?.

  2. This was an insightful (promise not reading too much into it!! so don't lecture me!!) entry. Loved seeing the uniform - was wondering. At first I thought you were showing off your bathroom sink!!! Hugs for sure! prayers always!

  3. Pictures...love it! Thanks for looking out for me. As for the "Aunt J" post...well, I'm just impressed by anyone that fits that description that actually figured out how to leave a comment...or use a computer without calling me:) if you ever get to visit Rota and want some suggestions, that's where our good friends lived for about 5 years up until this time last year. It's on the coast and pretty cool (judging from the pictures). I hear it's a vacation spot for Spain. Just south of Portugal not far from Seville.
Oh and your school uniforms are better than the ones my girls have to wear here in Denver. Guess that goes in the Optimistic side since things could be worse:)
I wonder when you'll get to try bull fighting yourself??? hmm...just thinking out loud... not really suggesting anything.

  4. Here I was feeling bad for not checking this in a while and I find there are no more posts. I know you've got something to say so give it up...what's going on in Spain lately?

    1. Alright alright. Don't get angry. I was planning to write one this weekend but you know life (being a lazy 16 year old) hit me and put me flat on my back (sleeping). Will upload in next 27 hours.
